Five notable retail technology funding rounds

RTIH rounds up the retail technology ventures who have been making waves with major investments.

1. Bloom & Wild

Bloom & Wild, a London-based flower and gift delivery startup, has secured £75 million in Series D funding.

The round, which values the business at £500 million, was led by General Catalyst and also included Index Ventures, Novator, Latitude Ventures, D4 Ventures, as well as existing investor Burda Principal Investments.

2. Bold Commerce

E-commerce technology venture Bold Commerce has closed a $27 million Series B funding round. 

This was led by OMERS Ventures, whose partner Laura Lenz will join the startup’s Board of Directors. 

Current investors Whitecap Venture Partners and Round 13 Capital also participated in the round. Bold Commerce’s total equity funding now stands at $44 million.

3. ChannelEngine

ChannelEngine, a marketplace integration platform for e-commerce players, has landed €5 million in Series A funding led by INKEF Capital, with participation from existing investor Airbridge Equity Partners.

It says that it will use the cash to accelerate its global roll-out and continue the development of its product and channels. The venture also plans to hire 70 new employees worldwide in 2021 across various levels and roles.

4. BlackCurve

Pricing optimisation specialist, BlackCurve, has closed a £1 million funding round, led by its Chairman, Martin Fincham.

There was also participation from Nauta Capital, The Cambridge Angels Network and other angels, members of the ScaleUp Group and the round was bolstered by a matching contribution from the UK Government’s Future Fund. 

5. Genflow

BGF has invested $11 million in Genflow, a startup whose tech platform helps influencers develop their own digital and physical products, to support its global expansion plans.

The business is based in London and LA and has its sights set on Miami, New York and Hong Kong.
