E-tailer Prezzybox pays tribute to founder Zak Edwards
It's Brain Tumour Awareness month, and so online retailer Prezzybox has taken to Twitter to talk about how founder Zak Edwards suffered from a brain tumour and passed away last year.
Edwards launched Prezzybox in 2000 in a small office in Warwickshire, spurred on by the dot com boom, the recent sale of his dad's business, and his lack of enthusiasm in his job at the time.
“Zak was the most supportive, spirited and loving person and we're so grateful for the time we got to spend with him. It's more important than ever to raise awareness of this awful condition,” Prezzybox tweeted.
It added: “Please visit Brain Tumour Research to find out more and discover what you can do to help. Thank you.”
Bricks and mortar move
Last year, Prezzybox opened its first physical store as part of Roadchef Strensham services in Worcestershire.
"We're excited to be embarking on the next step of our journey with the awesome team at Roadchef,” Edwards said.
“Our first store will offer customers an exciting and immersive shopping experience, with a range of our favourite gifts ready to delight visitors.”
“We can't wait to open, to show everyone the incredible range and to start our new chapter, creating moments of happiness for both our customers and their loved ones."
Make it Snappy
Around the same time, the retailer also rolled out a new personalised shopping tool, Snappy.
Users who upload a pic of their face (or that of a friend, pet etc) are met with a page of gifts, all adorned with said mug shot.
Prezzybox labelled it “the best, and probably funniest, shopping experience customers could wish for”.
