Automated fulfilment firm Fabric hires grocery, pharmacy and mass merchandise veteran Curt Avallone as Co-CEO

Automated fulfilment solution specialist, Fabric, reports that Curt Avallone has joined it as Co-CEO. Avallone will be based in the United States as the company focuses on expanding its operations globally.

Over the past 30 years, Avallone has launched e-commerce divisions at Ahold Delhaize, Giant Eagle, and CVS Pharmacy, as well as the HEB and Ahold Delhaize fuellng divisions.

Longtime company executive Avi (Jack) Jacoby will remain with Fabric as co-CEO. Jacoby joined the company in 2018 as Chief of Staff, later became CEO of the Israel market, and then Chief Operating Officer.

He took over the CEO role in 2022.

“We have so much opportunity ahead of us, and I’m confident that Curt, with his experience building innovative solutions in retail and fulfilment automation, will guide Fabric through its next phase of growth,” Jacoby says.

“I look forward to collaborating with him to empower grocers worldwide.”

Fabric was established in 2015 and has raised $375 million from the likes of Temasek, Corner Ventures, Union Tech Ventures, Playground, Innovation Endeavors & Aleph.

It has its headquarters in Tel Aviv, with a main office in New York and teams throughout the United States and the EU.
