Royal British Legion taps Thyngs tech for fundraising project
The Royal British Legion has teamed up with Thyngs on its Pub Quiz campaign.
With 2018 marking 100 years since the end of the First World War, The Royal British Legion is urging people to hold a pub quiz to raise money for veterans and serving personnel alike. If you’re interested, you can apply for a free pack, which includes six contactless joker donation cards alongside questions, answers and promotional materials.
Enabled by Thyngs’ NFC and QR code technology, the interactive cards let participants donate money by tapping or scanning it with their smartphone. They can also see how much money has been raised in real-time, or snap and share a selfie, complete with joker’s hat.
“We have been piloting a new fundraising product and wanted a cashless channel for supporters to donate that was easy to use, quick to set up and simple enough to explain in marketing materials,” says Simon O’Leary, Assistant Director of Fundraising at The Royal British Legion.
“Thyngs created a new opportunity for us to receive donations that ticked all the boxes, giving us a reliable and engaging new fundraising mechanism that fits seamlessly within the pub quiz supporter journey.”
