Firebox flags up biggest 2020 gifting trends

CBD-based and divorce celebration gifts are amongst the biggest product trends for 2020, according to Firebox.com.

The use of CBD (cannabidiol) has been a big thing in 2019, as people seek a natural remedy to help relieve anxiety and stress. Firebox.com reports that the category makes up 10% of its food and drink product sales. In 2019, the retailer launched a CBD Christmas pudding and will continue to grow its CBD product category to 20% in 2020.

Meanwhile, throwing divorce parties continues to be a growing trend, and in the past 12 months Firebox has seen a huge increase of customers searching for gifts to celebrate what was traditionally a negative moment. It is planning to launch a new product range in 2020.

Another key trend is the focus on sustainability. 90% of Firebox’ own brand product range is made in the UK. The London-based outfit is also looking to ensure all of its own brand products don’t use any single use plastic by the end of 2020.

Firebox, which launched 21 years ago, has also revealed the Mushion (a personalised cushion with a face on it) as its all-time best selling product.
