Wargaming announces Checkout.com payments partnership
Checkout.com has been selected by online game developer and publisher, Wargaming, as one of its partners for card payments.
The company’s flagship products include World of Tanks, World of Warships and World of Tanks Blitz.
Wargaming accepts payments from more than 150 countries. Currency conversion is, therefore, an important feature of the Checkout.com partnership.
Wargaming will also tap Checkout.com’s fraud technology, Prism.
Makis Savvides, Director of Global Payments at Wargaming, says: “Gamers can play our titles from anywhere in the world – the only requirement is internet access.”
“Given the truly global nature of our business, we need a payment solutions provider that has built-in flexibility and can easily integrate with our systems – so that we optimise the revenue we generate from every market and across every platform.”
“The level of service the Checkout.com team is currently giving us is invaluable and is enabling us to focus on delivering legendary online games globally.”
Antoine Nougue, Checkout.com’s Head of Commercial for Europe, comments: “The video gaming industry transcends borders and faces unique payments challenges as a result.”
“Our mix of payments solutions helps companies to not only tackle these challenges but to thrive and pursue growth.”
