Amazon Prime Video selects Screach for Ligue 1 coverage
Amazon Prime Video has chosen UK-based streaming and advertising platform Screach to deliver its coverage of Ligue 1 Uber Eats matches to bars, cafés and restaurants across France.
At the beginning of the 2021-22 season, Prime Video acquired 80% of Ligue 1 Uber Eats and Ligue 2 BKT matches. Under the three-year deal, Amazon is broadcasting over 600 matches a season direct to fans via its Prime Video service.
The Screach app aggregates live sports services and gives venues access, via subscription or pay-per-view, to HD quality events.
The firm’s platform, which was developed by Screenreach and is being used by the NFL, also comes with integrated venue marketing and advertising capabilities.
Robert Rawlinson, CEO at Screenreach, comments: “Amazon’s decision to partner with us is great news, both for us as a business and for commercial venues in France.”
“Screach’s technology offers a turnkey solution for rights holders such as Amazon who recognise the value of the enterprise space, both as a source of commercial subscriptions as well as a powerful way to reach individual fans.”
“The platform was designed and built to help venues gain access to more live sports content at the best prices and help them get payback on their investment.”
“From January we’ll be making it easier than ever for the owners and operators of bars, restaurants and cafés across France to harness the power of Ligue 1 matches and other live sports to attract and retain customers, without the need for a satellite or cable service.”
“Above all it is refreshing that a business the size of Amazon would choose a new technology provider in Screach to offer a next generation streaming solution to the commercial venue market in France.”
