These retailers and brands are leading the way in providing technology and experiences that are one step ahead of their customers’ expectations.

1. MUJI

Japanese lifestyle brand MUJI is rolling out MishiPay’s Scan, Pay & Go mobile self-checkout solution across its UK stores.

In addition to paying without waiting in line or having contact with checkout terminals, customers can use the tech to check prices, view additional item information and access real-time promotion information.

2. X5 Retail Group

Russian food retailer, X5 Retail Group, has opened its first cashierless store as part of its Pyaterochka chain. 

3. AliExpress

Ahead of the 2020 11.11 Global Shopping Festival, and with the coronavirus pandemic front of mind, AliExpress has invested in its customer service and delivery platforms across Europe.

4. G-Star

G-Star is claiming to be the first fashion retailer to introduce Apple’s App Clip technology in its stores, using the Highstreet Mobile platform.

5. H&M

Paperless receipts and digital rewards startup Flux has announced a partnership with H&M.

The deal marks the FinTech venture’s first foray into clothing and apparel and sees its solution available at over 300 H&M UK stores.

6. Meituan-Dianping

Tencent-backed food delivery service Meituan-Dianping has debuted its first ever smart AI retail store – MAI Shop - within Beijing’s Shougang Park.

7. Made.com

Made.com has launched a virtual showroom, enabling customers to visit the pureplay’s Amsterdam Apartment and discover its new AW20 collections.

8. Lidl GB

TapSimple is supplying Lidl GB with its Clip product to help the retailer’s NSPCC fundraising efforts during the coronavirus pandemic.

The contactless devices are being placed in 13 of the retailer’s distribution centres.

9. Co-op

Co-op has partnered with retail tech startup Gophr to launch a same day delivery service from its 50+ stores in Scotland.

10. MOOD Stockholm

Live video shopping specialist Bambuser and Swedish real estate company, AMF Fastigheter, have announced that their The Lobby Live omnichannel offering will open in MOOD Stockholm during November. 

This will bring together shoppable live streamed video experiences and physical pop-up spaces in the shopping mall, which straddles the shopping districts of Östermalm and Norrmalm.
