Curve brings back limited edition 18g Red Metal cards
PayTech big hitter Curve has announced the return of its limited edition Red Metal Curve card.
Weighing in at 18g, this is more than three times as heavy as your average credit card.
Benefits include mobile phone insurance, priority customer support and 1% cashback at six preferred retailers, twice as many as you get on Curve’s other card offerings.
Customers can also earn cashback from the likes of Apple, Deliveroo, H&M, Honest Burgers, Itsu, John Lewis, Leon, Pret a Manger, Selfridges, and Waitrose.
Funding round
Earlier this year, London-based Curve announced a $95 million Series C round.
This was led by IDC Ventures, Fuel Venture Capital and Vulcan Capital (the investment arm of the estate of Microsoft co-founder and philanthropist Paul G. Allen), with participation from OneMain Financial, the US personal finance company, and Novum Capital.
The fundraise brought the total investment in Curve to almost $175 million.
The venture, which has developed a platform that consolidates several cards and accounts into one “smart” card and app, said it would use the cash to expand internationally, including to the US, and to deepen its European reach.
It also planned to boost product innovation.
