Holland & Barrett goes live with TikTok shop

Holland & Barrett has launched a TikTok shop.

In a LinkedIn post, Primal Mistry, Head of Digital Trading at Holland & Barrett, said: “It’s been really fascinating seeing how powerful the impact of TikTok trends has been on driving performance in key parts of our proposition - in particular health and beauty supplements.”

He added: “So it’s been great to get this project over the line to be able to directly sell initially a small range of trending products through TikTok.”

“Fantastic cross collaboration in a short space of time with Laura Ross (Head of Customer Transformation at Holland & Barrett), Jonny Excell (Head of Social and Content) and Jade Riley (Customer Programme Manager - Personalisation).”

Bumblebee

Last year, Holland & Barrett completed the roll-out of its built from the ground up Bumblebee till system.

The retailer previously used the Oracle ORPOS platform.

The project kicked off with a pilot at its Moorgate store in London. And it finished with Holland & Barrett converting its Grafton Street location in Ireland.

“I am immensely proud to have lead an extremely small but talented project team who have built a ground up system in less than two years,” Simon Wallbank, Senior Product Manager at Holland & Barrett, said at the time.

“Not only that but we have developed, piloted and rolled out to over 1,000 stores in seven different countries remotely using our own colleagues.”

He added: “Underneath that we have integrated this with all of our legacy back end systems which has been a true collaborative effort.”

“The coronavirus pandemic has tested us in many different ways and none more so than this project. Everyone stepped up to the mark and it really shows what you can do when faced with such challenges.”
