PANGAIA partners with Archive and EON to launch ReWear peer-to-peer resale platform

Lifestyle brand, PANGAIA, and technology supplier, Archive, have partnered to launch PANGAIA ReWear, a peer-to-peer resale programme that enables sellers to list their preloved PANGAIA items using digital IDs powered by EON.

The digital IDs also give buyers a way to authenticate the preowned items they are purchasing through ReWear.

“PANGAIA ReWear is more than just a resale platform. It is the first step towards our ultimate goal - the creation of a future where we are able to close the loop by creating a truly circular ecosystem for our apparel, powered by the industry’s leading technology companies - Archive and EON. We are excited to make our ambitions a reality with our partners by our side,” says a spokesperson for PANGAIA.

PANGAIA and EON initially partnered in 2021 to create digital IDs that link individual PANGAIA products with a digital twin hosted in the cloud and enable customers to scan their items to access product and environmental impact information and facilitate circular services.

The digital IDs contain all the product details, such as size, colour, material and provenance, needed to streamline the resale experience on ReWear.

To instantly upload their product for resale, PANGAIA customers scan the QR code printed on the item’s care label.

The integrated Archive and EON technologies will then automatically fill in all the information needed to list the item on ReWear. If an item does not have an EON digital ID, the seller can still list it on the marketplace using Archive’s listing flow.

“We are thrilled to partner with PANGAIA to power ReWear and drive the evolution of resale, making it as easy to resell items as it is to buy them in the first place,” says Emily Gittins, CEO and Co-founder at Archive.

“PANGAIA is a pioneer in conscious clothing creation and this collaboration marks an exciting innovation in recommerce, as it’s the first time EON Digital IDs are being leveraged for a branded peer-to-peer resale programme.”

“We are proud to build on our partnership with PANGAIA with the launch of ReWear, the first digital ID–enabled peer-to-peer resale marketplace,” said Natasha Franck, Founder and CEO at EON.

“Through our technology integration with Archive, we can bring automation to the customer resale experience and provide buyers with more confidence around the authenticity of their products. This collaboration is another major step forward in driving transparency and circularity for PANGAIA and the fashion industry at large.”

The ReWear marketplace will initially launch in the UK, with plans to expand to additional markets worldwide.
