VEJA enlists NewStore, SAP, Syntax to power footwear brand's unified commerce strategy

NewStore reports that VEJA, a French footwear brand, is now live on its Omnichannel PoS offering.

Initially launched in Denmark, Germany, and the United States, the roll-out will also extend to all of VEJA’s owned stores and department store concession locations across France, Spain, and the United Kingdom.

“We chose NewStore for its ability to modernise our store operations without disruption, while delivering the speed, reliability, and strategic guidance we needed,” says Davy Leroux, CIO at VEJA.

“Equally important was its integration with SAP, which gave us the flexibility to unify our retail systems. That combination enabled us to roll out a completely new PoS in just three months and lay the foundation for a truly unified retail experience.”

A critical component of this deployment is the integration between the NewStore platform and VEJA’s enterprise systems. VEJA uses SAP as its ERP backbone to manage merchandise and operations. With built in integration capabilities and support from Syntax, a SAP certified systems integrator, the NewStore Omnichannel PoS now connects to VEJA’s SAP environment.

This will enable real-time synchronisation of sales and inventory data across all channels, providing a single source of truth for the brand’s retail operations.

VEJA enlists NewStore, SAP, Syntax to power footwear brand's unified commerce strategy

“With SAP as the digital core, and Newstore bringing clienteling, in-store fulfillment, and inventory execution into one intuitive app, VEJA now has the agility and real-time visibility to scale internationally,” says Achim Schneider, Global Head of Industry Business Unit Retail at SAP. “Together with Syntax, we are enabling VEJA to connect every part of its retail business and deliver the seamless experiences today’s consumers expect.”

“Bringing VEJA’s retail stack online required tight coordination across platforms,” says Grégory Hermel, CEO for France and Morocco at Syntax. “As a recognised expert in the SAP ecosystem, we were in the best position to support VEJA and NewStore in the implementation, ensuring seamless integration across all channels and unified management of retail operations.”

By adopting the NewStore platform, with support from Syntax, and through the design of a global e-commerce and store omnichannel architecture, VEJA will equip its store teams with a suite of capabilities that unify online and in-store shopping, including mobile checkout, endless aisle, mixed cart, buy online pick up in-store (BOPIS), and buy online return in-store (BORIS).

It will also enable NewStore Clienteling, giving its associates access to personalised tools that drive deeper engagement and generate more revenue through remote selling.

“Retailers like VEJA are under constant pressure to adapt while maintaining a consistent customer experience,” says Michael DeSimone, CEO at NewStore. “Our platform makes it easier for brands to expand internationally by delivering a consistent, unified experience across every market they operate in. This launch is a powerful example of how NewStore and SAP can provide the kind of connected foundation retailers need to succeed.”

2025 RTIH INNOVATION AWARDS

Unified commerce will be a key focus area at the 2025 RTIH Innovation Awards.

The awards. which are now open for entries, celebrate global tech innovation in a fast moving omnichannel world.

Our 2024 hall of fame entrants were revealed during an event which took place at RIBA’s 66 Portland Place HQ in Central London on 21st November, and consisted of a drinks reception, three course meal, and awards ceremony presided over by comedian Lucy Porter.

In his welcome speech, Scott Thompson, Founder and Editor, RTIH, said: “The event is now into its sixth year and what a journey it has been. The awards started life as an online only affair during the Covid outbreak, before launching as a small scale in real life event and growing year on year to the point where we’re now selling out this fine, historic venue.”

He added: “Congratulations to all of our finalists. Many submissions did not make it through to the final stage, and getting to this point is no mean feat. Checkout-free stores, automated supply chains, immersive experiences, on-demand delivery, next generation loyalty offerings, inclusive retail, green technology. We’ve got all the cool stuff covered this evening.”

“But just importantly we’ve got lots of great examples of companies taking innovative tech and making it usable in everyday operations - resulting in more efficiency and profitability in all areas.”

Congratulations to our 2024 winners, and a big thank you to our sponsors, judging panel, the legend that is Lucy Porter, and all those who attended November's gathering.
