Manchester Arndale adds Premier League champions Manchester City as its latest store

Manchester Arndale reports that Premier League champions Manchester City will be moving into the shopping centre’s former Pink unit.

The club’s new store – due to open tomorrow – will offer merchandise ranging from team kits, including the recently released 2023/24 home kit, and training apparel, to hats, scarfs, and memorabilia.

The Premier League trophy will be on display from 9am on Friday until 6pm on Sunday, allowing fans to have their photo taken with the silverware after last weekend’s victory.

In addition, customers this weekend will have access to giveaways and will be some of the first to experience the new digital activities within the store, including the ‘Meet the Players’ interactive video wall.

The shop will sit alongside Manchester Arndale’s sports and leisure locations such as Footlocker and JD Sports, as well as Sports Direct’s newly opened flagship store in the former BHS unit.

Steve Gray, Head of European Retail Asset Management at Global Mutual, says: “Football is intrinsic to Manchester’s unique identity, and we are delighted to welcome the Premier League champions to the centre.”

“The arrival of Manchester City demonstrates our commitment to delivering a vibrant retail destination that chimes with local shoppers as well as visitors from further afield who are looking to immerse themselves in the city’s culture.”

“With such a significant name joining the centre it’s clear there is continued demand for well-placed retail units, and we are delighted to see confidence in Manchester Arndale’s long-term performance.”

Serena Gosling, Director of Integrated Fan Experience and Retail & Licensing at Manchester City, says: “It is hugely exciting for us to launch our brand new City Store in Manchester Arndale - another important development in what has been an incredible year of retail sales for the club, and continues to strengthen.”

“Our fans are at the heart of everything we do and we are delighted to offer more opportunities for fans to interact with the club beyond the Etihad Campus, including some engaging fan activities available in the new store.”

“The Manchester Arndale store launch is a proud development for the club, and I’d like to thank our retail partner Stichd and its staff for their support in opening this new store. I’d also like to thank them for their commitment to helping us continue to offer a best-in-class retail service for our fans and members.”

Pete Emerick, Licensing Manager, Football at Stichd, comments: “We’re pleased to be able to support Manchester City with the launch of its Manchester Arndale store. As retail partner of the club for the past two seasons, we’ve experienced huge success together, breaking a number of sales records during that time.”

“At Stichd, we put ‘fantricity’ at the heart of everything we do. We are proud to continue to develop a true omnichannel retail experience for City fans around the world and now in the centre of Manchester. We hope that fans enjoy the new store and look forward to continuing to work together with Manchester City on more successful activations.”
