Chalhoub Group veteran Tomasz Mazur joins Currys as Head of Customer Data & Orchestration

Currys has appointed Tomasz Mazur as Head of Customer Data and Orchestration. He was previously at Chalhoub Group, spending almost seven years there and most recently serving as Head of Digital Technology and Delivery.

In a LinkedIn post, he said: “This update is long overdue, but the start of the new year feels like the right moment to share. I've joined Currys as Head of Customer Data & Orchestration and moved to London after nine years in the Middle East.”

“These transitions have a way of making you think about what actually matters. For me, it comes down to three things (and yes, I've had plenty of time to think about this during the move): Working on problems that affect real people. Currys is the leading technology retailer in the UK and growing in the Nordics.”

“The data work we do - personalisation, orchestration, experience - translates directly to whether someone's day gets a bit easier or a bit more frustrating. That's meaningful work. I've learned that technology that matters most is the stuff that people barely notice when it works. That's what I'm here to build.”

He added: “Being somewhere the infrastructure supports ambition. Europe's not perfect, and London certainly isn't. But the talent here is exceptional, the data ecosystem is mature, and there's real depth in the research communities and universities. Sometimes we get so focused on what's broken we forget what's working. I'm choosing optimism, even if the weather isn't cooperating.”

“Using technology properly. AI is the buzzword du jour, and there's plenty of talk about it. But how many are actually using it to solve customer problems rather than tick a box? That's the filter for everything we build this year. The team at Currys gets this, which is refreshing.”

RTIH AI in Retail Awards

RTIH proudly presents the first edition of its AI in Retail Awards, sponsored by VenHub Global, 3D Cloud and EdTech Innovation Hub.

Check out our finalists here.

As we witness a digital transformation revolution across all channels, AI tools are reshaping the omnichannel game, from personalising customer experiences to optimising inventory, uncovering insights into consumer behaviour, and enhancing the human element of retailers' businesses.

With 2026 set to be the year when AI and especially gen AI shake off the ‘heavily hyped’ tag and become embedded in retail business processes, our newly launched awards celebrate global technology innovation in a fast moving omnichannel world and the resulting benefits for retailers, shoppers and employees.

Our 2026 winners will be those companies who not only recognise the potential of AI, but also make it usable in everyday work - resulting in more efficiency and innovation in all areas.

Winners will be announced at an evening event at The Barbican in Central London on Thursday, 29th January. This will kick off with a drinks reception in the stunning Conservatory, followed by a three course meal, and awards ceremony in the Garden Room
