The Very Group teams with commercetools to overhaul e-commerce platform
The Very Group, which operates online retailer Very, has announced plans to transform the technology behind its e-commerce platform via a new partnership with commercetools.
The move is the first in a series of 2022 investments in technology and people as Very looks to boost its digital customer experience.
The commercetools tie up will see Very move its tech stack towards a microservices-based, API first, cloud native, and headless architecture (MACH).
Beginning in March, the retailer will begin migrating each stage of the customer journey from its existing digital commerce platform over to commercetools.
Matt Grest, CIO at The Very Group, says: “This is one of the most exciting technology developments in Very’s history.”
“Delivering a brilliant digital customer experience is more important than ever in today’s competitive retail environment, and commercetools will give us increased scalability and reliability when delivering change.”
“Our team will be able to make more simultaneous changes to different parts of our customer journey than ever before. The possibilities that this opens up from both a customer and a business perspective are greater than anything we’ve experienced, and we can’t wait to get started.”
Dirk Hoerig, CEO and Co-founder, commercetools, adds: “We are proud to provide The Very Group with our headless commerce technology to create a unique digital experience for its customers.”
“While shopping expectations continue to change quickly, The Very Group will be able to respond to these fast changing market demands with our flexible and dynamic platform.”
“We look forward to our partnership as they continue to grow and invest in the customer experience journey.”
