Currys launches range of hoverboards for hassle free commuting

As an April Fools’ Day joke, UK omnichannel retailer Currys said it was now selling hoverboards that fly up to 4ft in height.

A press release noted: “Thanks to ground-breaking new HovAir technology, our new hoverboards are designed to get people from A to B without having to battle traffic on the daily commute.”

It added: “Coming in a range of multiple colours, the hoverboards are looking like being one of this summer’s hottest trends, and are already flying off the shelves.”

Shein and Klarna announce London pop-up partnership

Fast fashion giant Shein recently opened the doors to a London pop-up in partnership with buy now, pay later big hitter Klarna. 

The #SHEINxKlarna experience, hosted in Covent Garden, gave shoppers the chance to browse the Chinese retailer’s upcoming spring collection.

boohoo hits the metaverse with female lead NFT collection

Fast fashion big hitter boohoo has announced the launch of its first NFT collection.

Phase one of the brand’s move into this space included the launch of NFT education and community building platform @boohooverse on Twitter and Discord, which aims to onboard the female fashion community into Web3 ahead of the first drop.

boohoo ran a competition to support a second phase. This recruited artists in the NFT space to be part of what is pitched as “the biggest female led NFT collection yet”.

French startup Foodles brings connected smart fridges to UK

Foodles, a French startup that provides “fresh, chef prepared, affordable food” for employees at any time of the day through its connected smart fridges, has entered the UK market.

Perch and Unilever unveil in-store digital platform in partnership with Giant Food

Unilever has partnered with Perch to launch an in-store product engagement platform at Giant Food supermarkets in the Washington DC area. 

Interactive end caps in the beauty section incorporate a digital screen that automatically senses what products shoppers touch to respond with videos and information, without having to scan a QR code, touch a screen, download an app etc.
