Lionel Messi’s Inter Miami CF opens Zippin powered checkout-free stores ahead of new MLS season
American soccer club Inter Miami CF (you know, the one that Lionel Messi plays for) has opened Zippin powered checkout-free stores at Chase Stadium, its home ground.
These have gone live ahead of the new MLS season, which kicks off this week.
“We’ve been working tirelessly during our short offseason to introduce technology to decrease wait times and expand the variety of our exceptional food offerings with the goal of elevating and providing a memorable match day experience to our fans at Chase Stadium,” says Laurence McMillon, Director of Food & Beverage.

Four Zippin powered checkout-free stores have been launched. These are the first outdoor checkout-free stores ever deployed in existing structures and tents.
Shoppers enter with a valid payment method (credit card or mobile wallet) and pick the items they want.
Upon leaving, they are automatically charged for the items they take (if they picked something up and put it back, they aren’t charged for it if they don’t leave with it). Shopping typically takes just 30 seconds or less.
Inter Miami has also introduced In-Seat Service for Field Level Seats, SW Corner Theater Boxes, and Field Side Suites, facilitated by Listo & Kallpod Mobile Ordering, enabling orders to be placed by fans from the comfort of their seats before halftime. Self-Service Concession Ordering Kiosks are powered by Inter Miami's Office Point of Sale partner, CHEQ.

The 58th Super Bowl took place this month at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada.
The Kansas City Chiefs made it to the Super Bowl for the second year running. They were the reigning champions, having beaten the Philadelphia Eagles last year. And they emerged victorious again in 2024, winning 25-22.
They were taking on the San Francisco 49ers this time around in a rematch of the 2020 season finale, when the Chiefs claimed a 31-20 victory over the 49ers at Miami's Hard Rock Stadium.
Taylor Swift has become a regular at Chiefs games since she started dating their player Travis Kelce last year.
And she was in attendance following her final world tour performance in Japan.
If Swift was peckish or thirsty, perhaps she tried out one of the Allegiant Stadium’s ten Zippin powered checkout free stores, which is more than any venue. In fact, over 65,000 fans were able to experience the convenience of checkout-free during the game.
They could do so by tapping in, grabbing what they wanted, and heading back to their seats.
Shopping averaged 35 seconds at Allegiant Stadium last season. Compare that with a typical ten-minute wait for a traditional concession stand.
Both teams playing in the Super Bowl have checkout-free home stadiums, powered by Zippin. Arrowhead Stadium, home to Kansas City Chiefs, deployed one of the industry’s first Zippin Walk-Ups at the beginning of the season.
Levi’s Stadium, home to the San Francisco 49ers, also deployed a Zippin Walk-Up earlier this season. The venue also recently added two Zippin Lanes, for a total of three checkout-free stores.
