Jewellery brand Pandora taps SAP tech as part of digital transformation journey

Pandora is working with SAP to support its digital transformation push.

At the heart of this is a new ERP system, with SAP S/4HANA at the core, which will enable the retailer’s business processes to become standardised, simpler to manage, and more connected as a result.

As well as digitalising the back office, Pandora is also exploring the deployment of AI within S/4HANA, as well as simplifying the lives of employees through user-friendly dashboards and streamlining the way stores operate.

“I truly believe that business is technology, and technology is business,” says Mariane Heidingsfelder, Pandora’s Senior Vice President of Business Transformation. “In our journey of growth, we are really digitalising our business end-to-end, from manufacturing all the way to our offices and our colleagues, and all the way to our stores and the way that consumers interact with us in a very personalised way.”

“At the store, we are leveraging multiple technologies,” Heidingsfelder adds. “We definitely want to simplify the way our stores operate, so we’re trying to have one place for the store associates to be able to get all the information they need in order to have those conversations with the consumer.”

When it comes to digitalising the backbone, she comments: “We also want to make sure that our store associates spend more time with the consumer and less time in the back office. We’ve consciously decided to start small, learn, and then leverage where we can find efficiencies to support the way that our colleagues work.”

“From there, I think the sky is the limit. We are really a bold organisation, and we want to make sure we leverage the best that there is out there from a technology point of view to boost our business and accelerate our growth.”

RTIH AI in Retail Awards

RTIH, organiser of the industry leading RTIH Innovation Awards, proudly brings you the first edition of the RTIH AI in Retail Awards, which is now open for entries.

As we witness a digital transformation revolution across all channels, AI tools are reshaping the omnichannel game, from personalising customer experiences to optimising inventory, uncovering insights into consumer behaviour, and enhancing the human element of retailers' businesses.

With 2025 set to be the year when AI and especially gen AI shake off the ‘heavily hyped’ tag and become embedded in retail business processes, our newly launched awards celebrate global technology innovation in a fast moving omnichannel world and the resulting benefits for retailers, shoppers and employees.

Our 2025 winners will be those companies who not only recognise the potential of AI, but also make it usable in everyday work - resulting in more efficiency and innovation in all areas.

Winners will be announced at an evening event at The Barbican in Central London on Wednesday, 3rd September.
