Amazon launches first ever Central London Black Friday pop-up store

Amazon has opened a Black Friday pop-up store in Central London. The Home of Black Friday experience can be found in Soho Square from Tuesday, 21st through to Black Friday on 24th November, from 12:30 pm to 7:30 pm every day.

Customers will be able to explore the best of Amazon's Black Friday sale and Amazon Prime, try their hand at a range of games to win prizes and take part in themed workshops, from foodie fun to crafts tutorials. They can also sample new products and get advice from gifting and lifestyle experts. Doug Gurr, Country Manager, Amazon.co.uk, says: "We're making Black Friday more fun than ever by holding our first ever Home of Black Friday pop-up in Central London and have released our TV advert which features our iconic boxes having a sing-a-long to celebrate the festive season."

“The pop-up store reflects the fact that retail customer experience is continually evolving. It would be all too easy for pureplay giants to rest on their laurels and think ‘why change a winning formula?’, especially with Black Friday and other sales holidays continuing to generate eye-watering revenues. However, customer tastes are changing; to stay on top, they are striving to create memorable experiences for customers,” says Alexandra Frith, Customer Engagement at Retail Pro International. “By providing a tangible store where people can grab a Black Friday bargain, Amazon is carefully sowing the seeds of a longer-term relationship. This is part of a wider trend: both traditional bricks and mortar retailers and their online cousins are treating physical stores as places to create a lasting impression on their customers, rather than just a place where transactions can happen.”
