Six brands deploying innovative retail technologies

These retailers and brands are leading the way in providing technology and experiences that are one step ahead of their customers’ expectations.

1. Target

Target has unveiled a new concept store in downtown San Francisco. Game Room lets people try out Magic Leap and Oculus Quest headsets, gaming PCs and mobile gaming rigs.

2. Iris Nova

Avery Dennison has deployed its newest RFID technology at The Drug Store, a cashierless store in New York owned and operated by Iris Nova, the Coca Cola-backed company behind the Dirty Lemon line of beverages. 

3. Amazon

Amazon has unveiled a new business line selling the Just Walk Out technology which powers its Amazon Go stores.

4. Very.co.uk 

Very.co.uk has launched a new feature that helps customers find the right size and fit by viewing over 80 Nike and adidas product lines on their choice of female model (sizes 8, 14 or 18).

5. Pornhub

Adult entertainment platform Pornhub has rolled out PumaPay recurring subscription crypto payments.

This enables its Pornhub Premium offering to accept the PMA cryptocurrency token. Customers can manage their monthly and one-time payments via the PumaPay Mobile Wallet app.  

6. Alexa Shopping

Paul Wilkinson has taken on the role of Senior Product Manager at Amazon’s Alexa Shopping business.

Alexa Shopping is currently on a major recruitment drive. “Our vision is to redefine the future of shopping by transforming the way our customers browse, find and buy from Amazon by using Alexa,” its jobs page states. 

“We are seeking talented, experienced trailblazers to help us create unique experiences that weren't possible in the past. From data to design, across engineering, marketing, research and more, you will help further our shopping-by-voice platform through Alexa-powered devices.”
