Parcel locker firm InPost UK are our fave retail technology thing on Twitter (aka X) right now. Here’s why

InPost recently became an official partner of Premier League football team Newcastle United.

As a result, Newcastle United supporters are able to use bespoke parcel lockers at St James’ Park – the first in the country at a Premier League stadium.

Doffing a cap at the the black and white of Newcastle United, the specially designed lockers will be located outside the iconic Gallowgate End, offering customers a city centre location, with InPost also having a number of collection points around Newcastle and wider Tyneside area.

Peter Silverstone, Newcastle United's Chief Commercial Officer, commented: “This first of its kind Premier League partnership clearly shows a shared commitment from InPost and Newcastle United to be innovative and creative, whilst putting our fans at the heart of activity.”

“We are excited to partner with InPost, providing an incredible platform to support their UK and European growth plans. We are delighted to welcome InPost to our family of partners.”

Another result of the tie up has been InPost UK tweeting during games.

And their social media guys played a blinder this weekend.

If you follow the Premier League, you’ll know that the Geordies are having a challenging season after impressing the season before.

A low point came on Saturday when a trip to London saw them get thumped 4-1 by title challengers Arsenal.

Under pressure Manager Eddie Howe told TNT. “In that first half we weren’t ourselves … a disappointing performance … in the second half we were much better until the third goal which knocked us … in that first half, Arsenal were very good, we weren’t, and we got punished … we were off in most aspects … we didn’t do the basics right.”

“Arsenal put us under pressure and we kept making technical mistakes … sometimes in away games you have to weather the storm … unfortunately we didn’t do that … we conceded some bad goals … we started the second half really well and had a couple of chances to get that third goal which would have been crucial in the game.”

“Unfortunately we didn’t take them … we made some bad mistakes for the goals in the second half amongst a much better performance.”

InPost UK, meanwhile, opted to see the funny side on X.

Oh, and they also managed a shameless product plug.

Before finishing on an upbeat (parcel delivery themed, natch) note.

Bravo, guys, bravo!
