Quick commerce giant Gopuff expands SNAP EBT payment options for customers across USA
On demand delivery firm Gopuff has announced the expansion of its Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Programme (SNAP) EBT payment options, allowing customers to check out using SNAP benefits on both its website and via the Uber Eats app.
“With the ability to deliver fresh, affordable groceries straight to customers’ doors in as fast as 15 minutes, Gopuff is uniquely positioned to help improve food access through SNAP," says Yakir Gola, co-CEO and co-founder at Gopuff.
"Since we began accepting SNAP benefits a few months ago, we’ve seen a great deal of SNAP orders coming from food deserts and areas with high concentrations of individuals with disabilities or seniors. Today, we're proud to further expand access to Gopuff for SNAP recipients by allowing purchases throughout our website and the Uber Eats app."
Starting today, customers across the US can use SNAP EBT benefits to pay for groceries across multiple shopping channels, with all payments powered by Forage.

“Expanding SNAP EBT payments across Uber Eats is a critical step in our mission to make food more accessible for everyone. By enabling SNAP for Gopuff orders on our platform, we’re helping millions of Americans access fresh, affordable groceries - all within a few taps. This is more than convenience; it’s about using technology to break down barriers,” says Hashim Amin, Head of Grocery & Retail for North America at Uber.
Since launching SNAP acceptance, Gopuff has found that SNAP customers place roughly two more orders each month than non-SNAP customers and check out with 62% more units per order, resulting in 22% higher spend. Additionally, as many as 15% of its daily new customers use SNAP on their first order.
“This expansion builds on the progress we’ve made powering SNAP payments within Gopuff's mobile app,” says Ofek Lavian, Co-founder and CEO at Forage. “We’re proud to work closely with such a dedicated partner to ensure that more Americans can access the fresh, affordable food they deserve."
2025 RTIH INNOVATION AWARDS
On demand delivery will be a key focus area at the 2025 RTIH Innovation Awards.
The awards, which are now open for entries, celebrate global tech innovation in a fast moving omnichannel world.
Our 2024 hall of fame entrants were revealed during an event which took place at RIBA’s 66 Portland Place HQ in Central London on 21st November, and consisted of a drinks reception, three course meal, and awards ceremony presided over by comedian Lucy Porter.
In his welcome speech, Scott Thompson, Founder and Editor, RTIH, said: “The event is now into its sixth year and what a journey it has been. The awards started life as an online only affair during the Covid outbreak, before launching as a small scale in real life event and growing year on year to the point where we’re now selling out this fine, historic venue.”
He added: “Congratulations to all of our finalists. Many submissions did not make it through to the final stage, and getting to this point is no mean feat. Checkout-free stores, automated supply chains, immersive experiences, on-demand delivery, next generation loyalty offerings, inclusive retail, green technology. We’ve got all the cool stuff covered this evening.”
“But just importantly we’ve got lots of great examples of companies taking innovative tech and making it usable in everyday operations - resulting in more efficiency and profitability in all areas.”
Congratulations to our 2024 winners, and a big thank you to our sponsors, judging panel, the legend that is Lucy Porter, and all those who attended November's gathering.
