Last week’s biggest retail technology plays

RTIH rounds up the stand out retail technology deployments and pilots from the past seven days.

Tel Aviv-based startup Bringg, which helps companies build and run delivery operations, has snagged a deal with Leroy Merlin Spain.

US startup Zippin has launched in Europe with what it labels “the first checkout-free store within a store”.

It has partnered on this with Sberbank, Visa and Azbuka Vkusa, a grocery retailer in Russia. The store within a store is located inside one of the latter’s locations in Moscow. Azbuka Vkusa converted one of the aisles for the initiative.

Life Style Sports, which has 51 outlets across the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland, has launched a native mobile app with One iota.

Estonian supermarket chain, Selver, has deployed the Cleveron 501, which enables customers to receive online ordered groceries without human contact. The first of these robotic lockers is situated outside a store near Tallinn.

OLPRO has launched an augmented reality service that enables customers to see how tents, campervan and caravan awnings would fit in their gardens.

The mobile feature is provided by size.link. When visiting the Dimensions & Details section of the products on OLPRO’s website, users can click the button ‘see the size now’, open the weblink or QR Code that appears and then select ‘view in your space’.

Women’s swimwear brand Jolyn has deployed artificial intelligence-powered technology from Emarsys.

The latter’s platform automatically segments Jolyn’s customers, enabling the marketing team to automate targeted omnichannel campaigns to specific people.

Online fashion retailer Princess Polly has launched a shapable TikTok feed on its Australian and US sites. It worked with US startup Vop on this.

Decathlon is rolling out MishiPay’s mobile self-checkout solution across its 81 German stores.

The technology is now live in stores in Berlin (Berlin Hauptbahnhof), Munich (Munich Connect), Cologne (Marsdorf), Schwetzingen and Plochingen, with more locations being added every week.

JoJo Maman Bébé is using artificial intelligence technology from Monetate to deliver personalised shopping experiences.
