200Purina has partnered with Perch to launch an in-store product engagement platform at 200 supermarket locations in the US midwest. 

Tapping Perch’s “lift-and-learn” technology, interactive end caps in the pet section incorporate a digital screen that automatically senses what products shoppers touch to respond with videos and information about said products.

820,000Amazon has announced plans to open its second robotics fulfilment centre in the US state of Louisiana. 

In the 820,000 square foot facility, which will be situated in Baton Rouge, Amazon employees will pick, pack, and ship smaller customer items such as books, toys, electronics and other household items.

$100 million…Delivery and fulfilment cloud platform provider, Bringg, has closed a $100 million Series E round led by Insight Partners.

3…Electrical retailer, Currys PC World, has launched three interactive ShopLive Live Broadcast events, in partnership with Tefal Garment Care, Google Nest and Google Pixel.

Hosted on the ShopLive Live section of its website, customers will have access to on-demand product guidance and top tech tips and an exclusive discount, all from the comfort of their homes.

1Amazon’s cashierless Just Walk Out technology is now available in a full size grocery store for the first time.

A new 25,000 square foot Amazon Fresh store lines up alongside the 10,400 square foot Amazon Go Grocery that debuted last year, and the standard 1,200 and 2,300 square feet Go locations.

It will be Amazon’s 14th Fresh location in the US when it opens tomorrow in Bellevue, Washington.

21…Buy now pay later big hitter Klarna has launched a comparison shopping service (CSS) in 21 markets across Europe.

£150.6 millionIdeal Shopping Direct, a UK multi-channel home shopping retailer and owner of the Create and Craft and Ideal World TV channels, notched up record sales in 2020 of £150.6 million.

This was an increase of 16.1% year on year, with pre-tax profits of £8 million, compared with £2.2 million during the previous year. 

€9 million…E-commerce venture Scurri has announced a €9 million investment as it looks to accelerate growth in the UK market. 

$995 billion…Global spending via e-commerce buy now pay later services will reach $995 billion in 2026, from $266 billion in 2021, according to Juniper Research.

This will be fuelled by a greater appetite from users for credit to spread costs, particularly in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic.

€200 million…Danish furniture and home furnishings retailer Jysk is investing €200 million in a new distribution centre in Lelystad, Holland.

Construction will be begin in spring 2022, creating more than 350 new jobs once the facility is fully operational.

This will be Jysk’s tenth European DC (it recently opened the ninth one in Escer, Hungary).

75,000Simbe Robotics says that its retail intelligence robot Tally has completed over 75,000 miles of operation in-stores.
