INTERSPORT, Tikamoon and Pilot among brands confirmed to speak at Akeneo Unlock conference

Akeneo has announced that its Akeneo Unlock event will take place at the Maison de la Mutualité in Paris, on 8th and 9th March.

This will bring together the product information management (PIM) and product experience management (PXM) community, and welcome experts from brands, manufacturers and retailers, including INTERSPORT, Tikamoon and penmaker, Pilot, who will share insights into how they leverage PXM as the keystone of their commerce strategies.

They will also give examples of best practice on how they balance traditional with digital product experiences – both across owned and third party channels - while maintaining brand consistency and delivering brand rich product led experiences.

The brands, manufacturers and retailers speaking at Unlock will be joined by tech leaders from the Akeneo community, who will discuss how PIM and complementary technologies can be used to transform operations to capitalise on new commerce opportunities, support composable and MACH-based architectures and, ultimately, scale demand to unlock growth.

The interactive event will showcase technical workshops, new product launches and insights, as well as keynote presentations focused on Akeneo Product Cloud.

Networking opportunities, including cocktails and the Unlock Party taking place on the first day of the conference, will not only provide opportunities to meet and speak to peers, partners and colleagues, but the event will also celebrate Akeneo’s ten-year anniversary.

Meanwhile, an International Women’s Day (IWD) panel on 8th March will tie into the IWD theme for 2023 of ‘DigitALL’, which advocates for more opportunities for women in the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) sectors.

“Off the back of another successful Unlock Boston event in October 2022, we can’t wait to bring the event over to Paris once again in 2023 for its eighth edition,” says Fred de Gombert, CEO and Co-founder, Akeneo.

“With Akeneo turning 10 this year, representing a decade of us shaking up and redefining the PIM category, and with the exciting launch of our latest innovation, Akeneo Product Cloud, we are looking forward to being able to bring together the PIM and PXM community for what promises to be an inspiring and insightful couple of days.”

Tim Kohn

Last week, RTIH exclusively reported that Akeneo had appointed former Amazon Technology and Product Vice President, Tim Kohn, to Technology and Product Advisor.

In this role, Kohn will serve as a mentor to Akeneo’s engineering team and will directly contribute to developing the Akeneo Product Cloud offerings.

“Tim is a tremendous technology and product leader, and we’re delighted that he’s joining Akeneo at the perfect time for the company to benefit from an industry veteran of his calibre,” said Nicolas Dupont, Co-Founder and CPO at Akeneo.

“Tim’s expertise in scaling fast growing software solutions will help pave the way for Akeneo to further develop an elite team of innovators positioned to reimagine Product Cloud capabilities.”

Kohn’s career began as one of Amazon’s first 20 software developers in 1997 and he has since developed 1,000+ person teams during critical phases in the company’s rapid expansion.

Kohn most recently served as Vice President of Video Experience Technology at Prime Video, responsible for the Prime Video app on all platforms, commerce, content discovery, personalised recommendations and content compliance.

Prior to that, he operated as Vice President of Networking and Amazon Web Services, where he managed all aspects of the Amazon network, including network designs, hardware and software development, operations and network interconnection business development.

Before his Vice President roles, Kohn worked for Amazon.com, having overseen product classification, product data auditing, and the development of algorithmic techniques for enhancing data quality.

“I’m impressed by how Akeneo Product Cloud activates experiences on all channels of the customer journey to ensure high conversion of browsers into buyers, increase revenue and margins, and decrease returns for both brands and retailers,” he said.

“The hybridisation of commerce is accelerating, and brands must exploit more discovery, research, transactional sales and customer advocacy to unlock their business growth. This leaves me eager to support the rising demand for Akeneo’s world class product data and performance analytics software.”
