Greene King taps QR codes for Scan The Anchor competition as sun loving Brits flock to beer gardens

Brits can win £10,000 this month by visiting a Greene King pub and purchasing a pint or bottle of Ice Breaker Pale Ale.

Customers who scan a unique QR code on the beer pump will be entered into a prize draw, with the winner being announced on 31st August.

To coincide with the initiative, Ice Breaker Pale Ale has released research showing that the optimal location for drinking a beer is the beer garden, with none in ten Brits claiming an alcoholic beverage genuinely tastes better when sat outdoors.

The survey of 2,000 Brits was conducted last week, as the warmer weather returned to the UK, encouraging Brits to flock to their favourite drinking spot.

It also found that the ideal time to consume a drink for maximum enjoyment is 6.00pm, with a fifth of Brits choosing this post-work slot as the optimum time.

The aforementioned competition launches in over 900 participating pubs that stock Ice Breaker in draught or bottle across the UK, from July until midnight on 31st August.
