Kurt Geiger in recruitment mode as British luxury brand aims to bring in new Head of Digital Trading

Kurt Geiger, a luxury British footwear and accessories brand, is looking to appoint a Head of Digital Trading.

In a LinkedIn post, Gareth Rees-John, Chief Digital Officer at Kurt Geiger, said: “A fantastic opportunity has arisen within the team. We are seeking an experienced Head of Digital Trading.”

He added: “This role involves trading across multiple global sites for Kurt Geiger, Carvela, Steve Madden, and Shoeaholics, as well as managing various Dropship partnerships. The position offers a six figure package in a fast growing business, making it an exciting time to contribute to our growth plans.

NewStore

NewStore recently reported that Kurt Geiger was now live on its Omnichannel PoS solution across more than 70 owned stores, outlets, and airport locations in the United Kingdom and the United States.

The roll-out spans the Kurt Geiger and Carvela brands, with the retailer replacing three legacy in-store systems with a mobile-based solution.

Store associates now have the ability to complete transactions and deliver seamless omnichannel experiences, including endless aisle, ship-to-store, and buy online pickup in-store and buy online return in-store, using only an iPhone or iPad.

“As we expand globally, it’s essential to have a retail platform that meets the needs of today’s shoppers and supports our long-term growth. Our previous systems simply weren’t built for that,” said Rees-John. “With NewStore, we’ve moved to a more agile, digitally native Point of Sale that allows us to innovate faster, empower our store teams, and stay ahead of the latest industry trends.”

The implementation also supports Kurt Geiger’s growing footprint in the US. Two years after entering the market as an e-commerce pureplay, it has now opened multiple bricks and mortar locations, all of which were powered by the NewStore platform from day one.

2025 RTIH INNOVATION AWARDS

Digital retail was a key focus area at the 2025 RTIH Innovation Awards.

VoCoVo, Everseen, Sensei, Gander, Iceland, Olio, Trust Retail, East of England Co-op, Lekkerland SE, Poq, Mamas & Papas, Varner, Sitoo, and Zebra Technologies were among our winners this year.

We received a record number of entries and many fantastic examples of the continued resilience and dynamism of the retail space during hugely challenging times.

Our 2025 hall of fame entrants were revealed during a sold out event which took place at The HAC in Central London on 16th October and consisted of a drinks reception, three course meal, and awards ceremony presided over by award winning comedian, actress and writer Tiff Stevenson.

In his welcome speech, Scott Thompson, Founder and Editor, RTIH, said: “This is the awards’ fifth year as a physical event. We started off with just 30 people at the South Place Hotel not far from here, then moved to London Bridge Hotel, then The Barbican, and last year RIBA’s HQ in the West End.”

“But I’m conscious of the fact that, to quote the legend that is Taylor Swift, You’re only as hot as your last hit, baby. So, this year we’ve moved to our biggest venue yet, and also pulled in our largest number of entries to date and broken attendance records.”

He added: “This year’s submissions have without doubt been our best yet. To quote one of the judges: The examples of innovative developments across both traditional and digital retail spaces were truly remarkable.”

Congratulations to our winners, and a big thank you to our sponsors, judging panel, the legend that is Tiff Stevenson, and all those who attended our 2025 gathering.
