Retail voice technology firm VoCoVo appoints Beth Worrall as CEO as founder Rob Gamlin transitions to Strategic Advisor
VoCoVo, a retail communications specialist that works with the likes of Asda, Tesco, and Dunelm, has announced key changes to its leadership team. Beth Worrall has been appointed CEO, transitioning from her previous position as Co-CEO, while Rob Gamlin, Co-CEO and Founder, moves into a new role of Strategic Advisor.
After two years as Co-CEO alongside Gamlin, Worrall becomes CEO with a focus on expanding VoCoVo’s international presence and setting the standard for connected retail - where voice enabled solutions unite teams, customers and technology.
Gamlin will remain actively involved in guiding technical strategy and product development.

In parallel with these changes, VoCoVo has made two senior appointments to strengthen its product and technology leadership. Melanie D’Mellow has been appointed as Director of Engineering, following her tenure as Head of Engineering since March 2024.
She will work in close collaboration with Siobhan Myles, who has assumed the role of Global Product Director, where she will shape product strategy while streamlining execution and alignment across product and delivery teams. Myles brings two decades of product leadership experience from senior roles across multiple sectors and product offerings, ranging from AI simulation platforms to eLearning technologies.
Worrall comments: “I’m excited to continue leading VoCoVo at such a pivotal time of growth. As we expand, I’m focused on scaling our solutions, driving innovation and setting new benchmarks for operational excellence and customer experience - all while further strengthening a culture where our people thrive and excel. A key part of that is bringing in the right talent for our next phase, and I’m delighted to have Melanie and Siobhan as part of our extended leadership team. Their experience and shared passion for product excellence will be instrumental in shaping our technology vision.”
Gamlin comments: “Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of witnessing extraordinary changes both in the retail industry and within VoCoVo. I’m incredibly proud of the journey we’ve taken and the impact we’ve made in improving the safety and engagement of retail colleagues and transforming retail operations. As I transition into my new role, I remain deeply committed to supporting the team and our shared vision as the company continues to innovate and evolve.”
2025 RTIH INNOVATION AWARDS
In-store technology will be a key focus area at the 2025 RTIH Innovation Awards.
The awards, which are now open for entries, celebrate global tech innovation in a fast moving omnichannel world.
Our 2024 hall of fame entrants were revealed during an event which took place at RIBA’s 66 Portland Place HQ in Central London on 21st November, and consisted of a drinks reception, three course meal, and awards ceremony presided over by comedian Lucy Porter.
In his welcome speech, Scott Thompson, Founder and Editor, RTIH, said: “The event is now into its sixth year and what a journey it has been. The awards started life as an online only affair during the Covid outbreak, before launching as a small scale in real life event and growing year on year to the point where we’re now selling out this fine, historic venue.”
He added: “Congratulations to all of our finalists. Many submissions did not make it through to the final stage, and getting to this point is no mean feat. Checkout-free stores, automated supply chains, immersive experiences, on-demand delivery, next generation loyalty offerings, inclusive retail, green technology. We’ve got all the cool stuff covered this evening.”
“But just importantly we’ve got lots of great examples of companies taking innovative tech and making it usable in everyday operations - resulting in more efficiency and profitability in all areas.”
Congratulations to our 2024 winners, and a big thank you to our sponsors, judging panel, the legend that is Lucy Porter, and all those who attended November's gathering.
