Power International goes live with Flow Retail omnichannel technology at first pilot store in Norway

Power International, a consumer electronics retailer which operates stores across Norway, Sweden, Denmark and Finland, has deployed Flow Retail’s PoS/store data system at a first pilot location in Norway following a trial in Finland.

In a LinkedIn post, Even Rognan Lutnæs, Group CTO at Power International, said: “It's alive! Great day today! This morning, we went live in our first pilot store in Power Norge with the new PoS/store data system from Flow Retail at Power Strømmen in Strømmen Storsenter.”

“Until now, the solution has been running in six franchisee pilot stores in Finland, but today the new system was launched in our first fully owned store, with a full omnichannel stack behind it - connected to Omnium OMS as the hub between PoS, e-commerce, and SAP.”

He added: “Many people were involved in the cut over, and hypercare over the next few days will make us able to handle any unavoidable glitches in the machinery continuously and further roll-out functionalities. Everyone in the store, led by store manager Aleksander Moe Jansen and Norwegian cashier coordinator Stine Jeanette Brobakken, has been outstanding.”

He concluded: “Flow Retail provides a graphical user interface with equally fast response times, built on a modern tech stack, offering completely new opportunities for further development in line with Power International’s pace of change.”

“Tightly integrated with Omnium OMS, we also gain entirely new possibilities to provide a unified customer experience for omnichannel retail - regardless of where, when, and how you want to shop, and this gives us much greater control throughout the entire value chain, whether you contact us via web, store, or customer service.”

2025 RTIH INNOVATION AWARDS

Omnichannel retail will be a key focus area at the 2025 RTIH Innovation Awards.

The awards. which are now open for entries, celebrate global tech innovation in a fast moving omnichannel world.

Our 2024 hall of fame entrants were revealed during an event which took place at RIBA’s 66 Portland Place HQ in Central London on 21st November, and consisted of a drinks reception, three course meal, and awards ceremony presided over by comedian Lucy Porter.

In his welcome speech, Scott Thompson, Founder and Editor, RTIH, said: “The event is now into its sixth year and what a journey it has been. The awards started life as an online only affair during the Covid outbreak, before launching as a small scale in real life event and growing year on year to the point where we’re now selling out this fine, historic venue.”

He added: “Congratulations to all of our finalists. Many submissions did not make it through to the final stage, and getting to this point is no mean feat. Checkout-free stores, automated supply chains, immersive experiences, on-demand delivery, next generation loyalty offerings, inclusive retail, green technology. We’ve got all the cool stuff covered this evening.”

“But just importantly we’ve got lots of great examples of companies taking innovative tech and making it usable in everyday operations - resulting in more efficiency and profitability in all areas.”

Congratulations to our 2024 winners, and a big thank you to our sponsors, judging panel, the legend that is Lucy Porter, and all those who attended November's gathering.
