2024 RTIH Innovation Awards: AI Innovation (UK) finalists include Attensi, Eagle Eye, Focal Systems

We’re pleased to announce the shortlist for the 2024 RTIH Innovation Awards AI Innovation (UK) category.

We received a record number of submissions this year across 20+ categories and many fantastic examples of the continued resilience and dynamism of the retail space during hugely challenging times.

It’s now over to our judging panel who will decide the winners to be announced at the 2024 RTIH Innovation Awards ceremony, which will take place at RIBA’s 66 Portland Place HQ in Central London.

The event will be held on Thursday, 21st November and consist of a drinks reception, three course meal, and awards ceremony presided over by comedian Lucy Porter.

Attensi

AI Innovation (UK) shortlist as follows:

After a barrage of hype, the retail space is now seeing many examples of artificial intelligence creating value and efficiency.

This award will highlight AI projects across the omnichannel retail landscape that have gone beyond the proof-of-concept stage, scaling and delivering results.

Attensi

Attensi is a workplace training and performance platform that combines psychology, technology and gaming principles, with a strong reputation for applied AI innovation and impact analysis. 

It has been recognised as an AI innovator throughout 2024, introducing AI co-pilots that improve results and productivity and Attensi RealTalk that allows employees to train in live conversation with Virtual Humans.

Eagle Eye

Eagle Eye’s AI powered Personalised Challenges solution is being used by leading retailers to execute large scale personalisation, driving profitable customer behaviour and achieving a 7:1 ROI.

Focal Systems and Morrisons

Morrisons’ partnership with Focal Systems lead to a significant improvement in customer availability and sales and is the first AI deployment of its kind at scale within the UK.

By improving customer availability by over 2% across the entire 500 store estate using tiny on-shelf cameras combined with Focal OS, Morrisons has increased customer availability and directly reduced operational tasks whilst improving both customer and colleague satisfaction, sales performance and reducing waste and shrink.

Peak and Heidelberg Materials

Heidelberg Materials revolutionised its approach to quote pricing with AI by partnering with Peak, saving thousands of hours annually, optimising margin and improving conversion rates.

Renude

Renude is pioneering the future of skincare with the world’s first AI Aesthetician, designed to deliver instant, personalised skincare advice and routines. By analysing consumers' skin through image analysis and mapping thousands of products and product ingredients, its AI offers tailored recommendations that empower users to make informed choices in an overwhelming market.

Retail AI and Girish Jeeva

Using existing store CCTV and audio systems, AI is used to identify shoplifters in real-time and a.) play instant preventative warning message and b.) provide footage to shop staff of who they are and where they are in-store.

Uhuru Botanicals and AND Digital

Uhuru Botanicals partnered with AND Digital to build the UK's first AI powered tool for researching botanical hair and skin formulations for Uhuru’s cosmetic formulation academy. The tool also needed direct, easy and low cost, maintenance control over the content elements without technical development skills.

x-hoppers

x-hoppers is a complete retail communication solution that combines wireless headsets, smart call points and AI powered features to improve the employee and customer experience.
