r-pac CNCT, SharpEnd, Moose Knuckles collab shows DPPs as more than a compliance opportunity

r-pac CNCT, in partnership with SharpEnd, has unveiled an execution of a digital product passport (DPP) experience for Moose Knuckles at the Global Fashion Summit.

With EU regulation on the horizon, DPPs are a top agenda item for the fashion industry. Yet where some see a compliance checklist, this collaboration aims to reframe the DPP as a creative opportunity to deepen consumer connection and brand trust.

In collaboration with Moose Knuckles, this experience was built using r-pac CNCT’s scalable item level intelligence and SharpEnd’s connected products platform io.tt.

r-pac CNCT, SharpEnd, Moose Knuckles collaboration shows DPPs as more than just a compliance opportunity

What sets it apart, according to those involved:

• Authentication at the tap: Consumers tap r-pac's proprietary TWINTAG in Moose Knuckles products to verify authenticity, combatting counterfeiting and ensuring chain of custody and operational efficiency throughout the supply chain.

• Material transparency: By integrating with Retraced, products are broken down by materials, origin countries, and supplier details - giving full visibility from source to store.

• Traceability as a journey: Users follow their garment’s lifecycle - how far it has travelled, when, and through which hands.

• Actionable outcomes: Registration unlocks repair services, future resale capabilities, and supports circular fashion initiatives.

Extended consumer engagement:

• Access to care instructions, styling tips, and resale support post-purchase.

• A connected wardrobe experience keeps all previous Moose Knuckles items in one digital place.

An evolving platform with content, new features, and value added services continuously delivered over time.

“Too often, DPPs are reduced to static data repositories. This partnership proves compliance can also be elegant, interactive, and brand building,” says Güneri Tugcu, Global Director Partnerships and Business Development, CNCT by r-pac. “Our goal is to bring modular technology to life in ways that empower smarter decisions, deeper trust, and meaningful consumer experiences turning obligations into opportunities for our brand partners.”

“Simply put, DPPs are really boring - and if we leave the conversation to LinkedIn spammers, the result will be lifeless spreadsheets. So, we did what we’ve done for the last ten years - lead by example and give the industry a great reference case study with many more to follow,” says Cameron Worth, Founder and CEO at SharpEnd.

The Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation (ESPR) mandates that all goods sold in the EU feature Digital Product Passports by 2030. Key priority sectors include textiles, batteries, electronics, ICT, and furniture.

2025 RTIH INNOVATION AWARDS

Green retail will be a key focus area at the 2025 RTIH Innovation Awards.

The awards, which are now open for entries, celebrate global tech innovation in a fast moving omnichannel world.

Our 2024 hall of fame entrants were revealed during an event which took place at RIBA’s 66 Portland Place HQ in Central London on 21st November, and consisted of a drinks reception, three course meal, and awards ceremony presided over by comedian Lucy Porter.

In his welcome speech, Scott Thompson, Founder and Editor, RTIH, said: “The event is now into its sixth year and what a journey it has been. The awards started life as an online only affair during the Covid outbreak, before launching as a small scale in real life event and growing year on year to the point where we’re now selling out this fine, historic venue.”

He added: “Congratulations to all of our finalists. Many submissions did not make it through to the final stage, and getting to this point is no mean feat. Checkout-free stores, automated supply chains, immersive experiences, on-demand delivery, next generation loyalty offerings, inclusive retail, green technology. We’ve got all the cool stuff covered this evening.”

“But just importantly we’ve got lots of great examples of companies taking innovative tech and making it usable in everyday operations - resulting in more efficiency and profitability in all areas.”

Congratulations to our 2024 winners, and a big thank you to our sponsors, judging panel, the legend that is Lucy Porter, and all those who attended November's gathering.
