Nectar and Marriott Bonvoy members to benefit from new loyalty schemes partnership
Nectar360, which runs the UK loyalty scheme Nectar, has partnered with travel loyalty offering Marriott Bonvoy.
Nectar members will now be able to link their account with Marriott Bonvoy, earning and redeeming points on hotel stays. Those that link accounts will be given a 500 point bonus on each of their next three hotel stays, on top of any points earned.
Marriott Bonvoy members will also benefit from the partnership and can convert their points into Nectar points. Those who sign up via Nectar will receive a 500 Nectar point sign-on bonus.
The collaboration promises greater flexibility in how Nectar members can earn and spend their points, allowing them to redeem them on hotel stays, experiences and year-round promotions. This is in addition to the travel with existing Nectar partners British Airways and Eurostar.
By linking the two loyalty scheme accounts, members can access participating hotels in more than 30 brands and at 10,000 global destinations. Marriott Bonvoy hotel brands include Sheraton Hotels & Resorts, Marriott Hotels, Le Méridien, Westin Hotels and Resorts and Moxy Hotels.
Nectar and Marriott Bonvoy say the summer launch of the partnership will allow members to exchange points to use toward summer holidays, flights, stays and experiences.
Amir Rasekh, Managing Director of Nectar360, says: “Marriott Bonvoy is a brilliant addition to our Nectar partner coalition and another example of our commitment to continually finding new ways for Nectar customers to earn and redeem points. We know that customers want to be able to earn points when travelling and, by partnering with Marriott Bonvoy we’re opening up another opportunity to do this.”
Jitendra Jain, Vice President, Strategic Loyalty, Partnerships and Commercial Intelligence, EMEA at Marriott International, adds: “Welcoming Nectar as a Marriott Bonvoy partner is a move that clearly aligns with the vision of both brands as we strive to offer our members more choice and varied experiences.”
“We look forward to leveraging the strength of our combined customer networks to deliver more opportunities to our UK members for their future travel plans, from check-out to check-in.”
2025 RTIH INNOVATION AWARDS
Loyalty schemes will be a key focus area at the 2025 RTIH Innovation Awards.
The awards, which are now open for entries, celebrate global tech innovation in a fast moving omnichannel world.
Our 2024 hall of fame entrants were revealed during an event which took place at RIBA’s 66 Portland Place HQ in Central London on 21st November, and consisted of a drinks reception, three course meal, and awards ceremony presided over by comedian Lucy Porter.
In his welcome speech, Scott Thompson, Founder and Editor, RTIH, said: “The event is now into its sixth year and what a journey it has been. The awards started life as an online only affair during the Covid outbreak, before launching as a small scale in real life event and growing year on year to the point where we’re now selling out this fine, historic venue.”
He added: “Congratulations to all of our finalists. Many submissions did not make it through to the final stage, and getting to this point is no mean feat. Checkout-free stores, automated supply chains, immersive experiences, on-demand delivery, next generation loyalty offerings, inclusive retail, green technology. We’ve got all the cool stuff covered this evening.”
“But just importantly we’ve got lots of great examples of companies taking innovative tech and making it usable in everyday operations - resulting in more efficiency and profitability in all areas.”
Congratulations to our 2024 winners, and a big thank you to our sponsors, judging panel, the legend that is Lucy Porter, and all those who attended November's gathering.
