Asda chooses Veeam as it takes control of protecting large, virtualised infrastructure

Asda has selected Veeam Software’s Availability Suite to provide backup and restore for mission critical systems.

Following its divestiture from Walmart in early 2021, the supermarket chain has taken responsibility for protecting the large, virtualised infrastructure that underpins its business.

It says that Veeam has enabled it to do this without sending IT headcount soaring.

Guy Yair takes on CRO role at checkout free stores specialist Trigo

Autonomous stores firm Trigo has appointed Guy Yair as Chief Revenue Officer.

He joins from Stratasys where he served as President ROW.

His CV also includes stints as CEO at Jacada and President EMEA at Alvarion.

2022 RTIH Innovation Awards: shortlists announced

This week we have mostly been announcing the shortlists for the 2022 RTIH Innovation Awards, including Bricks and Mortar, Supply Chain, Omnichannel Retail, and Payments.

It’s now over to our judging panel to decide the winners and highly commended companies.

These will be revealed at an exclusive event in central London on Tuesday, 6th December.

ASICS makes Web3 commerce move with NFT, running shoes launch

ASICS has dipped its toes into Web3 waters with the launch of the ASICS x Solana UI Collection.

Featuring custom made GT-2000 11 running shoes, customers will receive a loyalty ASICS Badge NFT with purchase, with a chance to receive an airdrop of a limited number of ASICS x STEPN GT-2000 NFTs.

The shoes are exclusively available to purchase with USDC digital dollar currency via Solana Pay here and available for pre-order for a five day period from 4th - 8th November.

This is the first ever globally distributed physical product available to order using USDC on Solana Pay.

Electrical distributor Rexel partners with Gophr to launch rapid delivery service

Rexel has announced a tie up with Gophr to offer customers a new 90 minute delivery service called Rexel Rapid.

The pair are working together to deliver to customers within a five mile radius of their local Rexel branch.

The service covers 16 branches across London with plans for a possible nationwide roll-out in the future.

Coach taps Ocean Outdoor DeepScreen 3D tech for Lil Nas X campaign

Coach has gone live with a 3D technology powered extension of its Courage to Be Real campaign on the world famous Piccadilly Lights in Piccadilly Circus, London.

Piccadilly Lights, the largest advertising display in Europe, is running this for 24 hours a day, from 7th - 13th November, with an hourly 3D full screen takeover featuring Coach brand ambassador, Lil Nas X.

This sees the rapper move through doors that represent the struggles he has faced in life, from fear, self-doubt, to judgment from others. The sequence concludes with Lil Nas X looking over Piccadilly Circus whilst performing.
