Badger Technologies unveils Digital Teammate platform powered by multipurpose autonomous robots

Badger Technologies has announced the launch of its new Digital Teammate platform.

This is powered by the company's multipurpose autonomous robot, with capabilities that aim to enhance employee productivity through mobile data and analytics, computer vision, and artificial intelligence.

It complements Badger Technologies’ existing solutions by incorporating RFID detection, enabling advertising through retail media networks, and expanding the company’s data and analytics platform. Through the mobile app, teammates from the associate to the c-suite, have access to prioritised tasks, data and insights.

“Badger Technologies' robots seamlessly integrate computer vision and artificial intelligence to work as a digital teammate alongside employees in complex environments. These robots can extend staff operations and produce critical data that increase efficiencies and improve shopping experiences, creating long lasting value for our customers,” says Emil Martinez, CEO at Badger Technologies.

Badger Technologies’ latest release is prepared for the rapid adoption of RFID tags, factoring in embedded expiration date information integrated into product packaging.

Customers will see enhanced food safety protocols that protect them from potentially harmful expired products and the reduction of costly food waste, which impacts both business profitability and environmental sustainability.

In addition to its new retail media capabilities, the robot’s integrated customer facing tablet can serve as an interactive guide, providing personalised assistance - such as directions to product locations or other site-specific guidance - and customised offers.

Badger Technologies says that it has deployed more than 1,000 multipurpose, autonomous robots that have travelled millions of miles at leading grocery, hardware, and home improvement retailers around the United States to support inventory management.

2025 RTIH INNOVATION AWARDS

Autonomous retail will be a key focus area at the 2025 RTIH Innovation Awards.

The awards, which are now open for entries, celebrate global tech innovation in a fast moving omnichannel world.

Our 2024 hall of fame entrants were revealed during an event which took place at RIBA’s 66 Portland Place HQ in Central London on 21st November, and consisted of a drinks reception, three course meal, and awards ceremony presided over by comedian Lucy Porter.

In his welcome speech, Scott Thompson, Founder and Editor, RTIH, said: “The event is now into its sixth year and what a journey it has been. The awards started life as an online only affair during the Covid outbreak, before launching as a small scale in real life event and growing year on year to the point where we’re now selling out this fine, historic venue.”

He added: “Congratulations to all of our finalists. Many submissions did not make it through to the final stage, and getting to this point is no mean feat. Checkout-free stores, automated supply chains, immersive experiences, on-demand delivery, next generation loyalty offerings, inclusive retail, green technology. We’ve got all the cool stuff covered this evening.”

“But just importantly we’ve got lots of great examples of companies taking innovative tech and making it usable in everyday operations - resulting in more efficiency and profitability in all areas.”

Congratulations to our 2024 winners, and a big thank you to our sponsors, judging panel, the legend that is Lucy Porter, and all those who attended November's gathering.
