Uber Direct partners with retail technology firm Grozeo on fast delivery options for small and medium sized retailers

Grozeo has teamed up with Uber Direct, Uber’s white label delivery solution.

Retailers on the Grozeo platform can now offer to deliver everything from fresh groceries to last minute gifts within two hours.

Using Uber Direct, retailers will be able to give customers the option to choose rapid delivery or a delivery time slot that suits them, from within their own website or app. They can also leverage the same tracking technology and courier network as Uber Eats.

Grozeo offers various features to help retailers streamline their e-commerce operations, including Point of Sale systems, order and inventory management and a store analytics function.

Khaja Hussain, CEO at Grozeo Global, says: “We’re not just a technology; we’re delivering possibilities. This partnership with Uber Direct is about levelling the playing field. It’s about giving local businesses the tools they need to thrive in a fast-moving digital world while keeping that personal touch with their customers - so they can stand tall alongside retail giants.”

Caroline Varga, Head of Uber Direct UK, says: “Consumers expect rapid delivery more than ever – it’s a trend that plays into the hands of businesses with a strong local presence. By providing the right technology and courier network to make this happen, Uber Direct is empowering small businesses to better serve their customers.”

Martin Velev, Head of Marketing at giftware retailer House of Spells, says: "Grozeo’s integration with Uber Direct has shown massive potential even in its early stages. The best thing the market can currently offer the gift industry is a same day service, which is fantastic yet rare. With Uber Direct, we can successfully cover the demand for an even faster service."

2024 RTIH INNOVATION AWARDS

On demand delivery was a key focus area at the sixth edition of the RTIH Innovation Awards.

The awards, sponsored by Vista Technology Support, Scala, CADS, 3D Cloud, Brightpearl by Sage’s Lightning 50, Business France, and Retail Technology Show 2025, celebrate global tech innovation in a fast moving omnichannel world.

Our 2024 hall of fame entrants were revealed during an event which took place at RIBA’s 66 Portland Place HQ in Central

London on 21st November, and consisted of a drinks reception, three course meal, and awards ceremony presided over by comedian Lucy Porter.

In his welcome speech, Scott Thompson, Founder and Editor, RTIH, said: “The event is now into its sixth year and what a journey it has been. The awards started life as an online only affair during the Covid outbreak, before launching as a small scale in real life event and growing year on year to the point where we’re now selling out this fine, historic venue.”

He added: “Congratulations to all of our finalists. Many submissions did not make it through to the final stage, and getting to this point is no mean feat. Checkout-free stores, automated supply chains, immersive experiences, on-demand delivery, next generation loyalty offerings, inclusive retail, green technology. We’ve got all the cool stuff covered this evening.”

“But just importantly we’ve got lots of great examples of companies taking innovative tech and making it usable in everyday operations - resulting in more efficiency and profitability in all areas.”

Congratulations to our 2024 winners, and a big thank you to our sponsors, judging panel, the legend that is Lucy Porter, and all those who attended last month’s gathering.
